Tonight's gig at The Wheatsheaf Frankwell will not be going ahead. It's a difficult time and without direct guidelines it's very hard to know what to do for the best, but for now it is important that everyone stays healthy and well. It is also unrealistic for pubs and venues to pay out for a band when there will be no people to buy drinks or to even watch the band. We will be seeing how things go week to week and will keep everybody updated on our gigs and what is happening 😁 stay safe everyone! Lots of Paprika love to you all 🌶❤ ...
Live stream gig? I'll happily provide my own beer 🍻 XxX
Keep safe xx

Bio
The Paprika Blues Band have injected the legendary sound of the blues with a young, creative mindset that will keep your foot tapping and ears warm.
The Shropshire-based four-piece formed when Lauren Scarlett (lead vocals) realised her Bessie Smith-pipes needed to be put to use and met ‘Kid’ Rory Smith (drums & harmonica) with a talent to share. Later finding friends Billy Clapham (bass) and the musically gifted Moz Havard (guitars), the outfit was complete to take to the stage.
The band creates an avenue to go down themselves as they explore the fusion of blues, funk, jazz and rock, siphoning the struggles of today in a sound that bellies a deep knowledge of all four genres. An energetic live performance is equalled by a passion for playing as the group meander down the crossroads of music.
With an act that started down your local before touring up and down the country, this hungry band from the West Midlands have won over crowds across the UK. Sharing the stage with artists such as Dr Feelgood, Dan Owen, Steve Ajao Blues Giants, The Big Sets, The Rainbreakers and Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn band, these aficionados build on what’s come before to create something to call their own.
Several years of intertwining their performances together combined with individual experience has created a seasoned act that will leave you wide-eyed and satisfied. Performances at festivals, clubs and venues across the UK are apparent as you join them on a ride on which you refuse to stop.
LAUREN SCARLETT
Vocals
Lauren’s vocal range is perfectly suited to sing the blues with passion and feeling. Her soulful voice adds a warmth to the songs the band plays. She is responsible for writing most of the band’s songs.
MOZ
Guitars
Moz joined the band in 2016. His versatile guitar playing, together with his knowledge of the blues helps to produce that authentic sound. Moz’s playing is very much influenced by Keith Richards.
RORY SMITH
Drums
Rory is an aficionado of the blues. He has been drumming since he was 9 years old and cites Charlie Watts as his main influence. He also plays blues harp on some songs and has played in The Big Sets and Smokey’s King Shufflers blues bands.
BILLY
Bass
Billy completes the band on bass. After a 12-month break due to other commitments, Billy returned to the band for 2020. His driving force and versatility forms half of a tight rhythm section.
